    The Canterbury Sports Foundation is committed to providing financial assistance for emerging talented athletes within Canterbury. Over the years the emphasis of the Foundation has altered marginally and now has a concentration on the production of quality coaching at all levels of sport, but particularly at the junior level. The overall theme of the development of sport has however, remained unaltered.

    Tony Hall is a Foundation Partner of CSDA. His contribution has been a critical factor in launching the Tātai Whetū Waitaha Athlete Support Programme. Tony is a former New Zealand Olympic Committee & NZOC selection panel member, former Chancellor at Lincoln University, Founding Director of Community Colleges NZ and held governance roles in education, business and sport.

    The Mainland Foundation is a non-profit organisation that was established to distribute the funds generated from their gaming venues. The Foundation maintains an open and equitable funding regime that enables non-profit organisations.

    The Christchurch City Council is the local government authority for Christchurch in New Zealand. It is a territorial authority elected to represent the 392,100 people of Christchurch. Since October 2013, the Mayor of Christchurch is Lianne Dalziel, who succeeded Bob Parker.

    Pub Charity Limited distributes grants to worthy community organisations all over New Zealand through the funds raised in gaming machines hosted in our member hotels and taverns.

    We first began raising donations funds for New Zealand communities in 1987. That’s 30 years of excellent partnerships with our venues, 30 years of great entertainment for our players and 30 years supporting communities all over New Zealand.

  • The Dr Tom Anderson Memorial Trust

    The Dr Tom Anderson Memorial Trust was formed in 1978 to commemorate the pioneering work of Dr Tom Anderson in Sports Medicine in New Zealand, and most particularly in Canterbury. The Trust supports projects which can be clearly identified as a facet of sports medicine and in particular, sports medicine education.

  • Koha Fitness and Health

    Back in 2017, Chris and Tarina recognised that Cantabrians were still suffering the aftermath of the Canterbury earthquakes and wanted to be part of doing something ‘positive and uplifting’ for our beautiful city of Ōtautahi. At a time when business owners were being asked to be brave and invest in the new look, new feel CBD, they decided that opening a health and fitness centre was a good way to support whānau to prioritise their health during the rebuild phase.

    “Good health is a gift”, and part of our kaupapa is to bring the gift of health to the people of Christchurch while engaging in the concept of ‘koha’.
